How much does A/B Pen cost?
The A/B Pen will cost $67 for reservation holders. The retail price will be $100.
Which ink refills does the A/B Pen come with?
The A/B Pen will come with one each of the red and black Hi-Tec-C Coleto refills. Refill packs with hand-picked ink refills that we love will be offered as add-ons during the campaign.
What is it made out of?
The A/B Pen housing is made out of machined and laser cut aluminum parts. The parts are sandblasted to give them a matte finish, and then they are hard anodized to give them the grey and black color. There are also 4 magnets adhered in each A/B Pen housing.
Where is it made?
The A/B Pen contains parts that come from various parts of the world but is assembled in Germany.
What colors will the A/B Pen be made in?
The A/B Pen will come in Grey and Black. More colors might be released in the future.

Will I be automatically charged for the cost of the pen later if I reserve?
No, you will not be charged automatically after launch. Your reservation is a one-time purchase that ensures you will have access to the exclusive benefits. After launch, you will have the chance to decide if you purchase the A/B Pen or not.
How do I pick the color I want?
You will pick the color in a post-campaign survey, not at reservation.
Do I need more than one reservation?
No, you only need one reservation to ensure you get your exclusive benefits. The benefits will apply to all the A/B Pens you purchase at launch.
Is the reservation refundable?
Your reservation will be 100% refundable until launch. If you change your mind, you can contact us any time before launch and we can arrange a refund.
How long is the reservation valid?
The reservation is valid for any orders placed during our 30-day campaign. The reservation is only valid for orders placed during this initial launch campaign.
What address should I use for the reservation?
Use your billing address as this is just an address for the reservation. The actual shipping address where we will send your pen will be submitted when purchasing during the campaign.
Will there be international shipping?
Yes, the A/B Pen will be available internationally, shipping from Germany. Shipping rates will be calculated when placing your order on Kickstarter.
Launch
When does the A/B Pen launch?
Our goal is to launch the A/B Pen campaign on Kickstarter on April 15th, 2025.
What happens on launch day?
On launch day, our campaign will go live on Kickstarter and the option to purchase your A/B Pen will be available. This is when you will have the chance to place your order at the discounted price. The campaign will be live for 30 days, and A/B Pens can be purchased until the end of those 30 days.
As a newsletter subscriber or as a makeduo Insider, you will be notified regularly up until and on launch day.
When do I get my A/B Pen?
A/B Pens will be shipped approximately 3 months after the campaign ends. In this time, we will have our manufacturers mass produce the metal parts for the A/B Pen, order the magnets and ink refills, assemble the pens, and prepare them for shipping. Reservation holders will receive the first batch as part of the exclusive benefits included in the reservation.
